Thought I'd start this because I have a couple riding mowers and enjoy using them. Here's my main one
It's a 6000!!! (6speed) 3hi & 3Lo
Horizontal shaft twin. Good on torque. Big tires. Should probably have permanent chains like @SirRobyn0

Here is mine, Cub Cadet 1811 purchased new by my grandfather in 1988(?). I have all the brochures and invoice from then I'll have to check the dates.

Had to replace the coil, which requires removing the engine since they sit "backwards" put new tires on it, still need to clean the side panels and button everything up. may build a stack for it.

I once worked on a Honda rider that looked something like this one. I replaced the starter in it but had to remove allot to change it. The amazing thing was that the engine was water cooled! Had a small radiator and a short driveshaft to the rear instead of a drivebelt.

@squaredeal91 Thanks for starting this thread. I'm sure that I will post in it occasionally. So here is my "main" lawn tractor. So on the farm I have an actual tractor and then this. I use much like most folks would use an ATV. It's got a blade on the front for pushing mud and chicken poo out of the outdoor chicken runs. And the trailer, for hauling fire wood up to the house or sometimes I'll load it up with tool when I go to do fence work or whatever anyhow here it is:

And my project. I was given this tractor. It was in a shed at a rental property. IDK much about it. It's obviously low hours, but it's sat for a long time. I've gotten it to crank over. I've rebuilt the carburetor and it'll run on starting fluid. I cannot get the pulse fuel pump to work. So I bought a 1-3psi electric pump. As I type this it is installed and plumbed, but I still need to wire it up. Maybe this afternoon. But it would be nice to use the old tractor exclusively for blading and the new to me tractor for all other use. Plus that would give me a back up. If the deck is good then it would get to mow as well.

Even if it turns out that this engine is junk, if the transmission is good I'd look for used engine. And if it turns out both a bad then I've still got a great parts tractor. At this point I'm into it, a new battery, spark plug, fuel filter and fuel pump less than $100. So we'll see it's just been slow for lack of free time.

Here's mine. After building gokarts and such it takes every bit of my discipline to not modify this thing for the fun of it. I've done good so far just keeping it an appliance.
