I've got a 64 k10 fleet side. I'm wondering which will have more resale value, keeping it era correct with a 6 lug 12 bolt or upgrading to a 8 lug 14bolt?? It'll be lifted and a sbc stroker motor. So, not very stock anyway..

They both are plenty strong for what you are doing. I'm thinking the 14 bolt will weigh more. The 12 bolt should have more gear set , and limited slip options. I don't think you could go wrong with either.

It's a mass produced, 15 year run truck, not a Hemi Cuda, no one cares about numbers matching, especially when you're chanigng everything else anyway.

As stated, value wise, really a non factor for 99% of cases.

Moving to a 10.5 14 bolt (or Eaton or Dana as the corp 14b didn’t exist in 1964) if there is need for the extra strength, or if your desired wheels are only available in 8 lug.

Otherwise not much to gain for a cruiser.

The 14 bff will not add much value but at least 200 pounds.

What about the front? 6 lugs on the front and 8 lugs on the rear will devalue a truck.
