The ONLY reason I say they might be worth it is because you never have to replace it again. You just clean it and continue moving on down the road. So if you're going to keep your truck for a long time that's when it becomes worth it IMO. As a short term solution or in the efforts of trying to improve performance then I'd say they're not worth it.

I agree Wix > FRAM. I don't buy FRAM for anything :nono: I either by Wix, AC Delco or STP air filters. I do have a K&N filter in my Suburban but that's only because we're going to have that for a very long time and it'll eventually pay for itself over time. I've had it for two years now and it works well :) ....and NO i'm FAR from rich :slap:

I've got several vehicles with K&N filters, they were all installed by the PO though. I do like them, but I don't think I would buy any new ones myself.

I got one because I plan on having my truck for a long time and did a tune up right after I bought it. Figured why not. I'm sure it was the overall tune up, but I went from 10 to 12mpg after.

Mine is somewhere in the landfill if you want one...or you could just cut to the chase and throw a handfull of sand down your intake.
