Maybe hit ebay motors for a southern truck, retro is always posting about nice squares down around where he lives. Rust-free at least, put a nice paint job on it and have as nice of a truck at 1/3 the price!

Wheewwwwwwwwwwww, Wayyyyyyyyyyyy lotta money. I couldn't even make an offer on that truck. Yes, it's pretty but, from what I've seen a guy spend $6000 for and I was wondering if he overpaid. I'll assure you, this $6000 truck was incredible. It got stolen less than a week later after he bought it. Insurance Co even with all the pics offered him $3000. He argued and fought and got $4000 out of them and took a $2000 hit and that didn't include the GPS, and Stereo System for another $800 that he lost on the deal. His wasn't 4x4, but I'll assure, it was the nicest square I ever laid my hands on. It was 100% restore in and out and underneath. You could eat off the undercarriage of this truck it was so clean and I mean literally. In my mind, a price of about half of what they are asking is more than fair, and actually less since those things don't work. $8K is where I'd be. It's nice but IMO it's not $17K nice. Yeah, as suggested above. Look South and the money you'll save will pay for your shipping of the vehicle I'll assure you.

Are you stuck on a truck? Or will a K5 Blazer or Burb work too? What features you want??? Obviously you're looking to find something turnkey and pretty much all restored and done. I'm sure in some areas, members will be willing to take a look at something, take more detailed pics and such to make sure you know what you're getting.

Oh and for god sakes, if you're willing to spend that kind of cash on a 4x4 Square truck. It better damn sure have all the good ****, like Dana 60 Front, NP205 Transfer Case, 14 bolt Full Float rear end. Of course it you're just looking for a mall crawler, those aren't needed, and most people with those higher end drivetrain, are using their trucks to play, so they might not be as pretty underneath.

I even think this is overpriced. New seat, with new fabric. You'd think they'd pay attention to details, like take some of that fabric and make new cloth door inlays for the door panel too so they match. DUHH, tells me alot about how the truck was restored. This has all pretty stuff, and nothing to say it's got anything upgraded mechanically. Still just 10 bolt axles, NP208 Tcase etc. I'd say $7500 truck at the most.

Thanks. I'd take a Blazer K5, infact I love those things. I'm not into the Burbs though.
A little off topic but here's a link to a nice K5 I saw, it's out of my price range but fun to look at.

I won't be using it for offroading just as a weekend car and to commute to and from the airport. I want the 4x4 for the winter. My main requirements are a V8 and manual tranny. I've been looking all over and haven't found any as nice as this one that don't cost more. Not to say it isn't overpriced but I've seen others that cost more and the ones that cost less seem to need some work. The guys I hired to do the 3rd party inspection were very impressed by the truck.

I'm in no rush at all though so I'll keep looking. Looking is half the fun anyway!
Thanks again. All advice is much appreciated.

Whewww, yeah, that 72 is overpriced. Who knows, maybe I live in Cheapville. I see some of these prices and it floors me. Like, really are these people that stupid to be asking that much? If that's the case, then there is lots of stupid people. Then again, I think it's been proven over an over, price is certainly regional. But the internet is a tool to over come regional pricing and even with shipping a vehicle or flying out to go pick it up and look it over is still worthy at some of the prices I've seen. To bad inbowhunter sold his MM7 already. It was a nice one with 4 speed overdrive and I think he got $7000 for it. He had all the original windows stickers, maintenance records and all that. Another member has a MM7 too, I think he wants or wanted $5000 for his and it's pretty sharp too.

Wow that's a real peach but that price is up there!! For that money it shouldn't need anything!

Exactly. Every last nut and bolt should be perfect and everything should function like new.

Sharp K5 for $5800.

Also says has some issues, but doesn't say what trans. Strange it got rebadged as a Chevy.

That looks like a winner except I have a hunch there might be something rotten in Denmark. It's titled as an '85 Jimmy but it has ALL the trim and such from an '89-'91 Blazer, it even looks like original paint. Usually when people update the looks they forget about things like the tailgate emblem and correct bumper trim. Also, the side trim is often installed incorrectly when put on an older model, but that one looks right. It also has the front fender "fangs" painted the two-tone color like the factory did on the later models.

Either the builder was very detail oriented or it's a stolen truck with a swapped VIN.

I'd say someone wanted the miniquad front end and couldn't find a good GMC grill.

I am kind of debating selling the '88 and building a 1988 Pace Truck if the R10 square were still available in 1988...

:bowroflwerd6::bowroflwerd6: If I were him, I think I'd swap some GMC grill, GMC Badge, and GMC Horn Button real fast like or he's gonna lose his truck.

And just to clarify for some folks, I don't think something is fishy just because the emblems and grill are for a Chevy. I think something is fishy because it looks like an all original and unmolested late model Blazer. I mean, I've got two GMC's that say "Chevy" everywhere on them... but it's very easy to tell that they are not all-original trucks.

I know what you're saying, but if he swapped some GMC logos on it, MAYBE noone will go looking further and figure it out like you did. I have a feeling you're probably right. I too thought it looked way to good. I'd be willing to bet pull the passenger seat, pull the carpet back, cut a hole in the floor pan under the passenger seat to the see the VIN etched in the frame, it'll be a stolen VIN.

I'd want to see the dash VIN and the area around it. For a minute I was thinking that maybe it was just a common body swap, but the title should still match the body and not the frame if that were the case.

These squares are not hard to swap a VIN and it look perfect. The guy was on the up and up, it was not stolen I know for a fact, but I do know of a guy who did swap a VIN on like trucks. Both were 83 1/2 ton Long Bed Silverados. It had to do with a parts truck he bought and registered owner had died and his wife couldn't sell it without a bunch of headache since her name wasn't on the title. So he swapped VIN's with his rust bucket and robbed the parts he wanted, then used the title of the deceased guy to scrap his truck. All was good. Just the state wouldn't think kindly to it. That guy has now since passed away too, and I hope that didn't get him from getting into heaven's gates.
