I was around for a bit a few years back with my old K10, hence the username.
I picked up a 91 Suburban last month and I love it. This particular model had one owner, who unfortunately died and the vehicle was sold to a friend during an estate sale. He decided to sell it to me and I picked it up for $800. Here's the info on the truck:
TBI 350 with 122k miles
3.42 rear end (not posi)
2 wheel drive
700r4 automatic transmission
Interior is nice with buckets/console in the front, power windows and locks, rear heat and A/C, third row seat, etc
Body is straight with no rust besides surface rust on the roof. You could eat off the underside of this thing. It did have outrageous tow mirrors on it, and taking them off left three holes on the doors that need to be patched up. Interior needs the front carpet replaced and the rest needs a good shampoo but is otherwise in good shape. Dash pad has a few cracks and there is some weatherstripping that needs to be replaced.
Motor runs and sounds good, no leaks whatsoever. Tranny seems to slip a little sometimes but most of my friends say that's just how they shift. Changed fluid and filter with minimal metal in the pan. Rear end was humming, so I changed the fluid and gasket and now it likes to howl around 50mph but is quiet otherwise. Has nice wheels and tires on her. I think it's gonna be a great project.
