Mine are both knocked out already. I haven’t tried it yet but I will later. Hopefully I can get the broken off key out of that lock cylinder
Your best bet when something like that happens, before you break the key or anything else off, is to get a small tube of graphite powder. Just give it a little spray straight into the opening and then move everything around... it will usually clear it right up and unstick whatever the problem is.

She’s out! The tab that needed to be depressed was bent, not allowing it to push down. Hammered a screw driver on it and it slid right out. Now my new problem, the lock cylinder I got isn’t going in. I think the guy at the counter said it fit a 78. Did they change lock cylinders between 73 and 78?

Been rewiring the truck, all new harness but still don’t have blinkers. Only have right rear brake light. I’m thinking it’s the signal switch, is it common for those to be bad? How do I test to make sure

Could be switch. Be sure to spend allot of time with grounds and cleaning light sockets

i will spend some time cleaning the mounting areas for grounding. Is there any way to isolate the switch being the issue?

There is. Hopefully someone will chime in. But start by checking power to the switch. See if you can find a wire diagram.

Good luck Sir, my column didn't look the same but is a little newer than yours.

When the guy said he had to knock out a piece of aluminum with a punch I was expecting it to be one of those guys on youtube that has no clue, but it seemed legit so I shared it.

I had this issue with my 78, there was a piece of cast aluminum that needed to be removed. Behind the pirate was the release tab its paper thin but it looked solid since it blends in with the rest of the casting. Mine did not have a retaining screw.
