Speaking of AC, I did piddle for a few minutes after work yesterday with the AC vents and those knobs I grabbed out of the junkyard.

This is the style that would've been in the Escalades of the era, these came out of Buick Enclaves IIRC. All the ones I found of these were either black or tan

I also grabbed this style out of Chevy Equinox's/GMC Terrains. This color matches the "Dark Pewter" or dark charcoal interior that I have better but they're kinda chunky looking

The vent just pops out of the housing with a firm pull, then these pieces can be carefully pried apart. You can see I've already ground down that one slat. The idea is to sand/grind down the fat "grab" area so that the new tab will slip over and can be epoxied on

I ended up doing one of each to see which one I liked better.

Unfortunately I glued the chunky one on upside down lol. I may just end up making 2 full sets to see what I like better

Got hair up my ass on my lunch break to do more of these. Did a full set of both styles of the knobs and we'll see which one I like better

These bigger knobs, gotta cut the back off. This stuff won't work with the NBS vents

Decided to throw the chunky boys in first. I actually don't mind them, they look right at home on the driver's side.

The pass side ones do stick out kinda far, but I don't know that I mind it

Overall I think that's a nice touch to the interior (ignore the console, I need to clean that out). Now I've gotta figure out which route to go on the steering wheel. The more I look at it, the less and less I like the reddish brown wood

The adjustment knobs in my '12 work truck stick out about that far too.

Imho, you are going to great lengths with those interior details. Not something I would do. The stock knobs are fine for me and I wouldn't give a rat's a$$ about changing them, lol.

Ya with everything dark in that interior that wood would drive me nuts. It would need to match the bezel for me to keep it. I'm not huge fan of wood though. Trucks coming along very nicely though.

These interiors have never bothered me in the past, but after spending time in my '17 Ram and the GF's '21 F150, I realize how bland they are. Just wanna make it a nicer place to be since it's the daily. I had planned to do it at some point, the junkyard scores just moved the timeline up. Plus I never really knew about some of these "mods" in the past, I just happened to run across them on various FB posts and went "huh, I really like that".

Yeah I think I'm gonna get one wheel dipped to match the dark Denali wood and one wheel painted gloss black. Just gotta decide which to do what to since this one has the little chrome pieces and the other doesn't. But I love the feel of this wheel, makes me never want another leather one lol
