Coming out really nice!

Every time I catch myself up with this thread, my brain goes back to the OG GMFS days where it was like a competition for who could have the cleanest NBS on the site. Everyone polishing, detailing. colormatching. debadging and coming back on a Monday to show what they did over the weekend for the bragging rights to the cleanest NBS truck on the forum LOL

Thanks! I've got a thread going over there too :happy175: I love weekends like this with a bunch of small mods that make a big difference

Oh yeah, here's a good one for ya. So I tested the puddle lights and the mirror functions before I even painted the caps, just to make sure everything worked. Both worked fine. One of the last things I did for the night was swap LEDs in. All of a sudden, my driver's side puddle light died. I'm running around in circles getting mad, can't figure it out. Finally run across a FB post of all things saying it can be your window switch.

Sure as ****, I swap in the old switch and they work just fine. All the windows worked, all the mirror functions worked, they folded/etc, that new switch just wouldn't allow the puddle light to work. So I chose puddle lights over power fold for now lol

Raising the rear bumper to match with the body lift. I had planned to not do this until I got a new rear bumper to replace this one, it's tweaked and dented, but I haven't found one yet and couldn't take it anymore

You can see the ends of the frame rails, the underside of the rear cross sill and it just hangs too low to match nicely with the bedsides. Not to mention the overspray from it's paint job that's now not covered

It's actually pretty easy to get these off, six 18mm bolts and two 15mm bolts. Unclip the tag light wiring out of it's holders and slip it out

It's nasty back here, just mud and dirt caked everywhere. Some day I'll take the bed off and really scrub and paint everything nicely. Probably replace the leaf springs and shackles at the same time. Was wayyy too humid to paint or I might've at least done some wire brushing and painting around the hitch while I was at it

See how nasty the bumper is too? Forgot to take any more pictures but it's super simple. The main, straight brackets just get replaced with the ones from Zone. There's a tab where the spare tire lift tube goes through the rear crossmember that has to be cut off or bent out of the way. Then you just slip it back on and put the two 1.5" lift pucks under it at the back where it bolts to the hitch.

Also cut the tailpipe off while I was there since it hangs way too low now

I brought my spare tire lift tools...but only 1 of the pieces I needed, forgot the other one. So I improvised lol

Did a quick and dirty catch can install on lunch today. This is just an Amazon Evil Energy cheapy, I'd like to upgrade to a Mighty Mouse down the road.

They provide this bracket. I had to open up the bottom hole and drill a new hole further up to match the bolt pattern of this bracket

Ended up re-drilling the holes for the actual can itself twice. After the first time, I realized I couldn't I couldn't get the top bolt into the lid. *doh*

Routed the supply hose from the VC along the fuel rail, down the main harness and then looped up into the catch can

I think I'm gonna grab some more 3/8" fuel hose to redo the outlet back to the intake manifold, that one's a bit short and tight. Then I can tuck it a bit better. Not the prettiest thing, but it works

Was gonna do colormatched fender flares, esky handles, front upper pad, HD hood, tailgate and the lower doors after taking the trim off and went "well hell, at that point I'm 75% of the way to a whole paint job so I'll prob paint the whole truck in a couple years
