So the integrated head on my '79 250 went kaput and I decided to switch over to a non-integrated one. The intake that came with the head is fitted for a 1bbl carb but the way the carb sits on the intake the throttle lever runs east-west where the old one ran north-south. I can't for the life of me figure out how i can route a throttle cable to pull east-west and google is failing me. Has anyone else had this problem? If so how did you rig up a solution?

Park sideways in the spot? Then even if it's a north facing parking spot, you'd be facing east...

Thanks! that seems like it will work now I just have to find a way to actually attach one to the intake.

Pics. I can't se how it could be hard to reroute a cable. It's a cable,it's flexible move the bracket/ make a bracket to hold the cable so it lines up with your new carb. I'll find some pics or take some pics brb.Pic 1 north south pull 75 k I could move the cable mounting bracket to the left valve cover turn it 90 degrees now it would pull east west. Pic 2 VW Rabbit I could move that bracket to the valve cover point it forward and it would be north south. Pic 3 84 C10 I could move the cable bracket to the left valve cover point the cable towards the right valve cover and now east west. Pic 4 Ford festiva, east west, turn the bracket 90 degrees move it back it now pulls north south.
