I'm not switching from carb to TBI or TBI to carb - I am just replacing (hopefully) 1 to 1 a worn out TBI throttle body with a rebuilt one.

Assuming they send me the correct replacement, how difficult of a remove/replace is this? It looks easy on internet videos, which always makes me suspicious that they aren't showing the more difficult parts.

My son has done several of them.
He is now 23.
He first rebuilt the one on our 1995 Suburban and then he found a second one and did some of the hop up stuff to it.
That is the one on the Sub now.

I would say if you have any mechanical aptitude, you should be good.

Ahh - thats one that would have gotten me. I don't have any metric line wrenches, but Harbor Freight does and since the throttle body hasn't arrived yet I'll make a point of going by there tomorrow on my way to work.

The old plugs can be fragile, go accordingly.

Make sure they have the flat washers and rubber o-rings for the fuel lines/fittings in the box before you start taking things apart. Seems like every time I take those apart they need new washers when I reassemble.

I haven’t swapped out the throttle body yet but I’ve had it off a couple times. Since you’re swapping in a new/rebuilt unit, you may have to readjust the TV cable after which is the only part of the job I’d even think twice about and who knows, your TV adjustment might not even change at all with the swap.

Fortunately I have a TH400 so there is no TV cable to worry about, just the vacuum line going to the modulator.

I'll check the box for the flat washer/o-rings (which I wouldn't have known to expect on flare fittings but thats why I'm asking now before it even arrives). I'm hoping it includes the gasket between the body and intake as well, if not I'll have to try to source that somewhere locally.
