watched this on History last night...wow just amazing. What a blast it'd be to step back into time there.

Has anyone heard what the total sales were?

I was watching Sat. night. People went crazy on bids. A few were probably worth what they paid but most were crazy high. Some of the indoor stored vehicles were pretty amazing shape but the outside ones, I don't care if it had 10 miles or 100,000 it would still need about the same amount of work to get running. I'm sure there will be some residual value of being a "Lambrecht" vehicle but I can't see that much.

Of course this is from a guy whose total truck budget was about $4k.

man those are some high prices for what are essentially parts trucks!!! If they'd be stored out of the weather all these years and in pristine shape I could see those prices but holy crap!

I have seen first hand how well a car stored outside in Nebraska can be. My dad has a friend from Nebraska who gave him a '47 Chevy sedan. His family bought it new drove it for about 8 or so years. He was drafted to Korea and while he was gone the stake truck blew an engine. So they pulled the engine out of the car to put in the truck. It sat outside since the early fifties until about 10 years ago so it sat around 50 years. It is now in a barn in Georgia getting an 80's Camaro front and rear subframes and drivetrain.

There is very little rust other than some surface rust on the car other than down at the bottom, running boards and rockers. The interior looks pretty good but is dry rotted and faded.

So I can see the appeal of these cars but not for crazy prices.

Man, great thread with all these fantastic photos! Really enjoyed reading and seeing it all.

We had a '74 Vega Spirit of America package when I was a kid. Ooh...aaah.

Historians, what's the deal on the hood badges? Did they all get them? Mine doesn't have one, and I don't know if it ever did. It was a dealer demo with 10k on it when the original owner's purchased it. Doesn't appear there was ever one mounted, but I don't know.
