Hood hinges help,maybe not the same old stuff

What about a chevy clutch pedal return spring? It could be lengthened with 1 or 2 of those chain quick links.

I don't even know how many 70's square bodies I have had. I only have 4 right now. I always close the hoods with one hand. That's just the way they are supposed to work. I have never bent a hood, and I doubt most people could bend a hood with one hand. I wouldn't invest money for some different design when the original design works if you oil them once in a while.
