You already have the hole. If it were me, I'd clean up the edges, and find another piece of bed floor to make a nice removable cover for it.

I did something similar on my Jimmy. Please ignore the booger welds. I forgot my electrodes were swapped from flux welding something. My plan for keeping it attached is some stainless self tappers after I coat the back area with bed liner.

If my fuel gage isn’t fixed that’s what I’m gonna do to my bed. Yeah it’s only a few bolts to pull the bed( Blazer tank swap), but my exhaust runs threw the bed and I’m not cutting it apart. Lol looks good.

I installed a TBI tank because it has baffles in the bottom to help keep fuel around the the Walbro LS fuel pump.
I put a sump on mine pulls fuel from a baffled area at the back of the tank.

Holy hack job !

:superhack:

I'd never do that in a million years. You didn't you drop the tank and do it correctly?

Don't answer that, i blocked.

it was just as cheap to replace the tank rather than screw around with a 30+ year old tank and also as best i can tell it has been sitting for a good 10 years since it last ran so I figure combined with the LS swap and then the age, dirty tank, and bad gas factor, plus needing to throw in the high pressure pump it was better to eliminate any potential problems with the swap.

And the reason I made the hole so big was because I was also replacing the fuel filler and vent lines so I had to get some elbow room in there.
