help with tranny removal...86 k10 4speed auto

Wiive had the front seal go out of my truck and I would like a guide or tips...I've pulled the tranny on 2wd before...just threw off by the transfer case and stuff thanks

I used a harbor freight tranny jack, made it a lot easier then trying to balance it on a floor jack. same deal as a 2x4 really, id leave the xcase connected and just unbolt/unplug everything and pull it

Like 79k10 said just unbolt it and pull it. Only extra thing you gotta unbolt is the front drive shaft. Leave the t-case bolted to it.

If all your doin is replacin the seal on the pump I wouldnt even pull it out all the way. Just slide it back enough to get the converter out and it will be alot easier. It sucks flat backin a trans so I feel ya with the extra weight of the t-case. Id rather swap a motor anyday than flatback a trans....
