HEI Distributor Issue

Spacers?????. Centrifugal and vacuum are two different worlds, you need to dial in the curve first..

Right that was the plan, curve then vac adv. The spacers are to take up the gap between the intake and where the distributor lock down is (same location as the small gasket). I have a gap there.

Last year I put a Demon carb on it. The directions say the front port is for ported/timed vacuum for the distributor. Well thats where I put it not knowing better. Hopefully that will explain why I went from 11 MPG to 8'ish.

LOL got some work to do today. Think I'll permanently install the small vac gauge I have...was a freebie from work. This will be in the engine bay.

Ok gotcha, that is very important don't want to push the pump gear into the pump cover. Yes you want full manifold vacuum it'll run and idle a lot nicer, don't forget to set your timing with the vacuum disconnected.
