Header issues with the angle. They are inexpensive summit long tube headers mounted to a '97 5.7 Vortec. They angle down and I do not like the look plus I am concerned with clearance issues with the truck lowered. Any suggestions on maybe shorty or mid length headers that are affordable?

Can you put a floor jack under the collector flange and tweak them up a bit?

I put a rosebud tip on my torch, get the tubes red hot at the bend before the collectors, and bend them where I want them.
Then remove and repaint.

Check the interwebs to see if people have been using car headers on the small blocks in these trucks.

I know on my big block they fit like champs.
Just use good gaskets and retighten after a few heat cycles, they should be swell.

Again, this is my BBC truck with Nova headers, but you can see the front crossmember is lower than the collectors of the headers.
If these drag, I am doing things wrong...

I've got stainless Hooker street stock headers on mine. Can't say I'd recommend it but they can be made to work dimpling a tube on each side to clear the control arm and minor trimming at the firewall. If you've got tubular lower control arms it would be a piece of cake.

I used 3/4 length headers gave all the ground clearance you need to keep exhaust inside frame rails .

Thank you everyone for the info. Think I gonna get some shorties that will give me plenty of clearance.
