Does any one know of a good video showing a complete gas tank R&R for 16 gallon tanks?
I have watched several videos on Youtube and have not found a single video that was complete or without a mistake.

By the time you watched 2 videos you could of had the tank out. They are stupid easy. Get a drill and some bits zip out all the filler neck hardware. Grab a 1/2 ratcheting combination wrench or a ratchet and socket, grab a 9/16 1/2 drive socket and some extensions. Grab an impact or a long 1/2 inch ratchet and some pruning shears. Use your 1/2 to undo 1 bolt that holds the filler tube to the bed and the bolt that holds the sending unit ground to the frame. Use your extensions and the 9/16 socket to blast the four bolts per bracket that hold the tank brackets to the frame out. Wiggle and pull on the tank to get it to move, reach up with your pruning shears and cut the fuel lines between the frame and the tank, lower it to the ground how ever you see fit. A stock ride height c10 I don't even have to jack them up. Unless the tanks full its not hard to bring it down with one knee 1 arm and let it fall the last few inches. The tank, the brackets, the filler tube, and sender all come down as a unit.

^^^^^^^^^UH, my 75 K20 had 8 bolts holding the brackets to the frame.......4 on each bracket....1 front and 1 rear bracket^^^^^^^^^
My bad you are right 8. I was in a hurry writing, not thinking as fast as I was typing. Still anyone actually doing it would have seen the bolts, sometimes people just need to do things, instead of looking for you tube videos.

Ricko1966 thanks for the instructions.

Now I am looking for a source for strap insulation strips other than 30-pound roofing felt.

Use roofing felt, membrane, rubber strips, bicycle inner tube, whatever. It all works the same.

If you can pick out the mistakes you’re now qualified to remove the tanks. Just go take them out! Lol.

Ricko 1966 did say 'blast out the 4 bolts per bracket' in his first post. My only suggestion to add is reassemble on the ground first. My tanks actually 'snapped' into the brackets. I think I may have had to bend the welded flanges on the tank more to get them to fit in the brackets. Getting the strap tightening bolts started was a struggle. Don't tighten the nuts until bracket bolts are tightened. There are holes in the frame that allow you totighten after installation. Just make sure you are in the right hole! Measure the holes in the frame and adjust the brackets to match. The tank should slide straight up. One more thing, my new brackets from LMC did NOT have nuts on all the holes. You could probably use clip nuts or weld nuts on before installation, like I did. Good luck.

No idea if there's vids but I would say pay attention to the ground wire, where it attaches to the frame & pickup, don't let the tank hang on and pull it apart.

The stuff from LMC is just trash thin felt strips...

If I had it to do over, I would have probably cut some strips of viton rubber for the strips instead.

Old motorcycle inner tubes is what I used. Also, I never unbolted my filler neck from the box, you can go right in side the quarter panel in front of the tire and undo the spout & vent tube right at the tank and leave the other end fastened to the bed side. Tighten the tank straps fairly tight BEFORE you put the tank & brackets back up to the frame. This will help stretch the tank straps a bit, then you can loosen them and align the stap bolts with the access holes in the frame, otherwise they're a b*tch!
