Hey guys, I'm a newly registered member, though I used to come here to look around for info when I had my last square body a few years ago.
I recently picked up an '87 Suburban out west, aside from cosmetic issues due to sitting in the sun for 27 years this thing is amazing. The other two squares I had in the past were rust buckets and hack jobs, but this thing is is the real deal. I've never worked with any older Chevy that was 100% unmolested before (heh, or one that had a floor) and I'm actually not sure where to start. In the past I'd have no problem taking a sawzall to one of my trucks or just tear into it to see what happens, but that's not the case with this one. I want to do it right.
So instead of using my usual yankee engineering I'm gonna take my time and make this one nice. As a result you just may see me poking around here every so often
I apologize in advance for any noob questions I may ask too. Despite my love for Chevy trucks and v8s, my real area of expertise in auto mechanics has always been Japanese stuff from the 1980s due to being broke for most of my life lol
