Well, I need a new fuel line from pump to carb, My existing one is a complete hack job with rubber hose and clamps In sections. Can anybody recommend a quality aftermarket replacement? Or should I just stick with an original metal line?

Original metal piping is the best, pull and pack or, buy a new piece of steel line and bend/cut/reflare it to fit, the double flareing kit is`nt that much from H.F.
I try and avoid anything rubber on the pressure side, if at all possible.

I like making my own steel line, it's not hard if you have patience and a quality tubing bender.

Aye, likewise. Something about rubber lines running all over the place I just hate. I couldn't convince my brother to go 50/50 on a 37* flare tool when I was doing his trans cooler lines, so he has AN Twist-Lok fittings with rubber hose. While it's...OK, I just think metal hard lines are so much cleaner and more professional. It might cost me $200 to get the proper flare tool and misc. things the first time around, I'll be damned if I'm going to have ugly rubber lines running everywhere for my trans cooler, and the flare tool (Rigid 377) will last forever. I even refuse to use a trans cooler that has barbs only...must have threaded fittings!

With today's Ehtanol blended fuels, I'd try to go metal as much as I could.
