I know the vast amount of these out there are prolli all the same but would like to start an opinon thread that we can voice out oppions good/bad of ones we have tried. I have tried such as sea foam (new and old formulas) mercury quick clean (which think has been the best) and now trying some star tron enzyme fuel treatment for the first time, not sure how its working since my truck is being a bioch right now. But im looking for more of a cleaner of like carbon on the valves than a stabalizer. Was thinking of using a product called "Ring Free" from yamaha. I come from the powersports industry but that ring free and merc quick clean work wonders on marine engines so why not this old truck. Any thoughts or opions welcome.

I prefer Motor Purr, it works very well but is hard to find nowadays. I have tried Lucas and found it was not a bad product. The other I have tried is Berryman's B12 and I think that added some pep while it cleaned the fuel system. I wish Motor Purr was readily available, first time I tried it was in my Cherokee and within 20 minutes I noticed a difference. So I tried it in my lawnmower that wasn't idling or running right, and within a few minutes the engine was running smooth and idle was smooth as well. Had the same results in my rototiller and chainsaw. I never saw any change or improvement with STP or Gunk or Gumout fuel additives.

Sea Foam

At oil change time, i use synthetic oil too, Sea Foam one in the crank and one in the tank. That's my motto. :)

I got guys on another boating site trying to sell me on the Sea Foam. All I occasionally use for now is gas dry for the boat.

Seafoam does work wonders but in my truck I have stopped using anything that is supposed to clean anything. Every time I use Seafoam with in 3 days I have to change the plugs due to them fouling out. I know my motor is beyond tired and so until I change it regular oil gasoline is all its getting lol.

The plugs are fouling
I'll replace them when I run this tank nearly dry

Have you ever Seafoamed the intake? It sounds like your intake and valves have a fair amout of carbon on them to begin with and that's not going to do your plugs any good.

I put sea foam in my tank
Which I believe is causing carbon to break down and foul the plugs
I am almost positive the plugs are original (23yrs old)
