Hey GM gurus,

I'm a (kind of) new owner of a 1979 Chevy C20 350. My family has been a Ford family for years, but I bought this C20 and I don't know a whole lot about it! I'm looking to get some help over the next year or so as I tweak this truck just how I like it. I put a new 4 bolt main 350 in it, went through the tranny (its a TH400), and replaced the whole brake system. I plan on running dual 3" exhausts (unless someone can convince me otherwise) and deleting the EGR. If you think there's anything important I should know about these trucks let me know, or if you have suggestions for mods / fixes / cool stuff I'm open to anything at this point :favorites13:

Thanks! I'm actually going to start off with swapping my 16gal for a 20gal fuel tank and I'm gonna add a true dual exhaust with 3" glasspacks or turbos... I haven't decided yet, I need more info. To the forums!

With duals, I would stick to 2.25" piping. 3" duals will hurt your low end power a bit.

+1

2.25" would be best and yes you will loose the back pressure with 3". You MAY get away with 2.5" but that Kind of depends on the motor you have. I still agree with foamypirate though, 2.25" would be best, and IMO glasspacks suck, Turbo mufflers are my favorite.

Im gonna say 2 inch duals are best. speeds up the flow but leaves enough room to flow

I'd say either 2" or 2.25" would be better than the 2-into-1 1.5" that's on there now. When I get time I will run some resistance models between 2.25" and 2" and I will price two systems.

That would be cool to know for sure which is better!

Of course like it was mentioned on the other thread mandrel bends vs crimp bends would make a world of difference.
