I can get an awesome deal on a Ford Dana 60. I know I need a drivers side drop t-case. Just wondering what's involved with the instal part of it. Will a Chevy Dana 60 cross over steer work for this? Going in a 1986 k30

What year is the axle? '78-'79 have the same spring perch width, '87+ axles are wider.

Brake hoses, some ubolt hardware and driveshaft ujoint are different.

The crossover arm will fit but I don't know if the drag link is the same length as a GM axle.

FYI, Ford knuckles are weaker than GM & Dodge design. Very few parts interchange with GM & Dodge versions.

I put a Dana 60 from a 1989 F350 and a divorced 205 transfer case from a mid 70's Ford in my 73 GMC. I did have to fab the spring hangers and the cross member for the transfer case. All the steering components are available from aftermarket sources. It all depends on how much work your willing to do. In my case I knew I was going to build a big truck and I knew what components I wanted to run.

the cross over will fit( pass arm and drag link from the pitman arm) i have a 78 ford 60 under my K5 with crossover and thinking of going back to highsreer with hydro assist. The axle bolted no problem except for the ubolt next to the pumpkin - you either have to drill and notch a spot for the ubolt to sit or find the factory adapter/ bracket for right there. i know the brake line fittings are different from a gm dana 44 to the ford 60. the knuckles are weaker on the ford then the gm.
