It is when sealing an engine. It needs to fit all mating surfaces perfectly

If it sits on the pan like it should, then it should also sit nicely on the block. I like the plastic holders they provide with pan gaskets, makes sealing the corners and getting the bolts started so much easier

I used the 3 plastic holders I could fine, helped immensely. Well I'll drain the oil and remove the pan when my attitude improves

Well, the first time I put the seal on, the engine was upside down right in front of my face, and I didn’t notice anything. This time, I didn’t bank to fit the gasket up to the timing cover before the old pan, but I guess I should have. I honestly didn’t think it was leaking but it’s clear that it is. And it’s clear that that is exactly where it was leaking from on the bottom side anyway, the leak that was causing all the ruckus on the crossmember.

I either have to steal some of the wife’s Tupperware or go get a fresh drain pan because I’m not wasting those 5 quarts of Valvoline

I can’t wait to do that to mine as well. That will be huge.

Man, I really want to paint my dash turquoise but I just don’t think it would look that great. Unfortunately, this truck is a mix of turquoise and teal. It was a turquoise truck originally, but someone has done some teal parts. Someone else said paint it cream like the grill, but I don’t know. Would probably look best the way it is.

Worked on the cluster today (the gauge cluster not the truck) and made my own dummy lights lenses, the orange needle paint was perfect, and I painted the backing plate white first, because I saw a picture of one on Facebook someone had done, and it looked really cool lit up. But when I got it into my truck to look at it, it just didn’t look right. So I took it apart and painted it black like it was. Painted the bezel black as well.

This is what I was going for. I thought it looked cool lit up, but in daylight it just looks cheap or unfinished.

With the dash and interior being silver, it is just right amount of bright already
