I see where you are going with the headers. That's a good question, if a 327 that's never been in a truck, what would you have to order to get it to fit in a truck? Especially a late model 1500 with stuff like a clutch cylinder sticking out. You would absolutely need to cut and weld?
I think I would make some calls to the various header makers and ask them what they had that came closest to fitting without having to do as little cutting and welding as possible. A few phone calls don't cost a dime and I'm sure they would want to help you in order to get your business. First to find you a set that fits wins! A Doug Thorley or a Heddman.
Dc, how about block huggers? Just throwing some stuff out there to think about. That way you wouldn't have anything hanging down in the way other than a single pipe going back any way you can swing it.
