I have a **** ton more problems with Holleys than I've had with Eddy's. Not many issues with Qjets either. Bottom line, each one of the big 3 have their quirks and advantages. So choose what you're most comfy with and the quirk you're willing to deal with and all is well.
IMO, the purpose of the vechile determines which carb to run too. For drag racing I'd run a Holley, but I can't stand a Holley for DD. Keep your fuel filtered well and your gas tank clean you won't have any problem with an Eddy. You can even take off, run a different carb for awhile, and put it right back on a few months later and it will run just fine. Take a Holley off, set it on the shelf for a month, put it back on, it'll leak like hell and need a kit in it. One back fire thru the intake, you're pulling a Holley apart replacing the power valve. You don't have those issues with Qjets or Eddys. But mods on a Holleys and tuneable parts availalbe, the sky is the limit and you can change jetting in a matter of minutes. Eddy isn't bad either but not as many options as Holley. Qjet, PITA to get to the metering rods by taking the whole top off the carb. Pro and Cons, Cons and Pros. Pick your Poison !!!

As long as they dont need bushings, Qjets are easy to rebuild IMO.
