Hello all, this forum has been a very informative source of information for work on the truck and just square stuff in general. I have a 78 GMC K25 with factory 350 and sm465 np205 in it. Engine came out no problem at all. A new to me 350 is going in, in its place with roller cam setup. My ? is will the engine drop in fairly easy with trans still mounted in truck or should i remove it and the transfer case to mate the trans then install everything back in. Trying to look ahead as im in the process of cleaning up engine bay and going to sand it down and paint her up.

Any recommendations on clutch kits was going to go with a centerforce II or napa, have 37" tires on her.

You can leave the trans/tcase in. When you install the clutch assembly on the flywheel, ensure you have the alignment tool with a tooth on top, then place trans in neutral and align the input shaft with a tooth on top. If you have a engine leveler attached to the hoist it will make it easier too.

You will need to attach the bell housing to the motor, line up the clutch with a alignment tool and it should stab right in. Dont forget the pilot bushing.
