Engine Mounts

Can someone help me with the purpose of these brackets? Came off motor mounts on a 78 K10

Those go between the mount and block. Then there are a pair of bars that run from the odd ball hole to transmission bellhousings. I have them on my truck and could snap a pic after work unless someone beats me to it.

The idea is more support and to help keep the trans bellhousings from cracking under torque.

They weren't on my original 350/TH400, but they were on my 1997 454/4L80E donor combo. Like Dutch said, they go under the clamshell and have a rod that bolts to the trans bellhousing.

@Dwnforce

Here's an old pic of the other end, pic was diagnosing an oil leak, now fixed.

This is on my 83 with 350 and 7004r as far as I know it's factory.

I had the strut rods on my '79 K15 350/350/203 and my '85 K30 454/400/205.

These were between the block and steel mounts on my 79 K-10 from the factory. When I put the Big Block in the truck, I still needed to use these to keep the spacing like factory. Otherwise the the holes do not line up between the metal mounts on the block, and the cushion mounts on the frame. I found out the hard way.
