can anybody tell me what kind of motor this is casting #v1025fmc its a 350 in my 85 k1500 thanks

that's a suffix code not a casting number. The casting number is on the back of the block.

I would guess it's the factory one....

GM had a replacement crate engine years ago that they termed Target Master. People latched onto the name and started referring to replacement small blocks you could buy directly from GM as Target engines for short.

Casting numbers would be different, yes.

And so is the # you speak of JetDr. That code you give you appears to be a factory code to me and not a Target Master motor or a GoodWrench Heche En Mexico motor either for that matter.

Decoded, the V means it was made in Flint, MI engine plant. The 1025 is the date code, 10 being October, 25 being the date, so the motor was made Oct. 25th of probably 84 in an 85 truck. Then the FMC is the suffix code Swims mentioned. Its 1985 165hp 4bbl truck motor and likley a 4 bolt main since its a truck motor.

And the other #'s are partial VIN to the vehicle that it originally came out of, so if the digits match your VIN to the truck, then you know its the original motor to the truck when manufactured.

yea copy that hotrod i saw the breakdown in the lmc catalog but did not see the suffix for the fmc ,but there are no other # after the fmc thanks guys!

If Target starts selling motors then I'm going to start buying non running garbage and throwing the Target motors in them and selling them cuz you know they'd sell those motors for $19.95 and they'd last all of a week like the rest of their merchandise

The good part would be that the lead based paint is probably heat resistant and won't come off. So don't be letting your kids lick and chew on your motor.
