You guys with electric fans have you had to upgrade your alt to make up the lost power

It's not totally necessary, but a strong battery helps, and alt upgrade is not a bad idea at all. Also a big 3 upgrade is alwayss a goood idea.

I have two red tops with a isolator. One runs truck ... one the stereo. . winch.. lights Theres a shop that will rewind my alt for $1 amp the biggest itl go is 140 amp then the case is in the way. Its not bad idea cant hurt. Already did big three

Great thread! Liking the big dual fan setup. Wish someone would tow in the mountains and heat so I can see how it'll work under those load conditions.

A couple years ago I found the aux 454 fan at the swapmeet for $2. Installed it in front of the 11x11x1.5" TruCool (aka; B&M Super Cooler) trans cooler. The motor got water in it and failed about a year later, but I discovered the company that made the fans is still in Australia, so I ordered a new fan motor. I've since added a stainless band to act as a shroud and improve air flow.
