Great story! Thanks for sharing. God bless you both in things to come. And don't forget Easton, there's still Vintage Air, Dakota Digital......
Mom and Dad bought him VA last year.. he wants Dakota for sure… I keep telling him it would hurt my feelings since we spent so much time rebuilding the instrument cluster a few years ago… but you know kids, I’m sure it’s in his future.

I remember 18.....some 40+ years ago. Savor the flavor of your youth buddy - it goes fast. The time spent with your Pop is also priceless. If you were closer I'd hire you to help me finish mine - lol.

And OMG....did you get taller fast.

What a great thread. Looks like I found the right forum to join.

He probably learned as much building that truck as he did in high school. As far as skills needed for life, probably more.

Congratulations, Graduate!

You absolutely found the right forum! And you are so right. It was never really about the truck, more about the life skills!

From one father and son build to another Congratulations Easton. The skills you learned from your build will take you along ways in life, it is things you do not get from sitting in front of a screen. I'm sure the time spent together will be cherished by both forever.

Ryan graduates next year and it has been a similar journey to yours as he bought his at 14 as well.

All the best as you enter the next stage of life.

THOSE ARE BEAUTIFUL. He better not want to get rid of them! The only acceptable change to that there setup is to replace the empty spot with another gauge.
They are hard to find, especially in a new-appearance Id imagine, but there are gas versions of this tachometer /gas gauge out there.. somewhere.

It feels like just yesterday he was sanding the body of a stripped apart square and was like, probably, a foot shorter lol!
For real…. Where does it go? Thanks again for everything

Congratulations Randy and Easton. You should be proud of your accomplishments. It appears you both understand life as well as trucks.
Easton may God protect you moving into the world.

Rick

I’m almost complete. Drove it. Too shaky. All the usual stuff, ball joints, bushings. All steering linkage. I knew it needed to be done but…
