I have been searching and can't find what I need.
I am thinking of doing a 700R4 swap into my GMC. The TH400 with 4:10's rev too much for me at highway speed. I have an extra trans sitting around. I need to know if the driveshaft out of a 700R4 suburban will fit into a long bed truck.

I don't have a driveshaft shop close to cut mine down.

TIA

It would be a couple inches short and you would need a conversion u-joint at the rear.

Dang. So the only other option is to find a long bed 700R4 truck, right?

Yeah, and you would still need a conversion joint. May as well just drive to a driveline shop, IMHO.

Thanks bucket. Sorry for the late response. I am not getting the email notification for some reason.

One other question. If I did a 4L80E swap can I reuse my current driveshaft without moding?

Pretty sure the 80E is longer, don't remember off hand.
