anyone tried to install a double din stereo where the factor ones is i know you'd have to do some cutting but it looks like it would work. anyone willing to share any photos of how they installed any after market stereo ? i am deciding to either use the new factory style one or a newer fashion one which i think you can get way more bang for your buck.

Single DIN is easy. Double, not so much.

The 89-91 blazers burbs and crew cabs had double dins factory so the gauge bezel is already cut for them. Just have to trim the metal dash behind it.

well for one even if you got the double din to work in that location that's a piss poor location. I like Double Din's for the reason of watching movies on longer road trips. Well, that's out with the thing being at your knees LOL

Not to worried about watching movies in my truck but I do like them better then the single din but I'm still a little undecided on putting a newer style stereo in there. But the retro sound ones are junk for what they charge I had one in my last car and they can do anything you can do with a new stereo

If it's me and I'm putting a double din in a square I'm making a custom center console that'd sit on that center hump that'd house it but that's just me. I've also see them fiberglassed into the center of the dash but that looks janky and out of place. There's a pic of it that's been posted on here a couple of times.

I use my phone all my music is on Google so I it has to be bluetooth no cord or plugging anything in. Not gonna move it from the stock location but I don't mind it being were it is wasn't trying to put a tv in. Think I'm gonna go with a retro sound one for now till I can decide on something better. Thanks guys for the help

IMO if you want it just to play bluetooth make it easy on yourself and just get a single din with bluetooth capabilities. The only real advantage a double din has over a single din is watching videos on it. The vast majority of head units on the market now come with bluetooth capabilities.
