Get a door lock relay from a mid 90s GM car or truck. Make sure you get the connector and several inches of the wire.

The wire colors will match up with the exception of a black wire. Since the factory relay grounds thru the mounting bracket, you will need to ground the black wire to solid metal. Problem solved.

Since the OP asked about the relay, I assumed he knew for fact the relay was defective.

Before just replacing parts, do a little detective work. The relay is truggered by the switches, they are powered by the courtesy lamp fuse. If the courtesy lamps work, the fuse is good. Check for power on the orange wire at either switch. If you have power, next check for power on the other 2 wires (I don’t remember the colors) one wire should show power with the switch in the “lock position, the other wire will have power in the unlock position.

If that’s good, check the circuit breaker on the right side of the fuse box. I believe the power door lock relay is powered by a heavy gauge orange/black wire. If you have power there, it’s time to check the door lock relay.
