Rather than "storing" the original steel Chevelle front bumper I mounted it to the shelf and put some bulbs in it, so they can light up.

For 20 years I crammed all my junk into our single car garage (look closely and you'll see my Blazer's frame w/ axles in there).

Then fortunately / unfortunately someone "broke in" to my wife's Jeep in the driveway (soft top so the doors are always unlocked), needless to say she was pissed about the violation and told me to build a shop so she could park her baby inside - "Yes, dear!" :D

I had an 18x36x14 (w/ 12x12 roll up door) pole barn built, it seemed so big in the beginning but it's busting at the seams now.

Built this 16x24 last year or so after we got the first 86. Needed a full resto and.i really didn't have a place to work on it. Of course, should have made it bigger. Still love it though.

In my profile photo, my truck is sitting in my "shop"....
When I redid my red truck I did the whole thing in the driveway. Never made it into the garage.

Build thread: https://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/showthread.php?t=342926

That was from May to September of 2009; two houses ago.

I don't have a pic, but just imagine a patch of dirt, gravel and rocks with no shade next to an adobe hovel in the desert.

That's my shop...

What I have that I can use..... hopefully the building will get semi organized this winter. Then I have to be able to get the big truck IN a bay....
At least this is firm pavement. In front of the building is gravel and dirt where all fasteners dropped instantly turn into rocks....

Very little work gets done at home, this is the most shallow "2-car" garage I've ever seen. Plus the house is only 1200sq ft, so we have lots of junk stored in here. If it weren't for all the junk on the right side of this picture, the C10 will fit on the RH side of the garage straight in. But nothing bigger than a Mini could fit on the LH side because the water heater and washer/dryer are on the back wall there.

Since we're not married and it's technically the GF's house, plus she has the newest/most valuable/most expensive vehicle in the fleet, she gets the garage. We agree that I can park the C10 in it when I drive it home just cuz my insurance demands indoor storage but I can't take up the garage for long term projects. Both her '21 F150 CC and my '05 Z71 CC have to park at a 45* to fit, even with nothing in the way lol

When there are small projects to be done, the vehicle ends up at least part way outside. It also doesn't help that there's a downward slope starting 1' inside the garage, so it's not dead level either.

Thankfully they allow me to store and work on my junk at work, since it's a vehicle we sell parts for and we use it for R&D/test fitting all the time. It's mutually beneficial for the company as well since I have all my tools here, we can get alot more done without them having to shell out thousands of dollars for tools. I essentially have 1 permanent spot in our ~40k sqft R&D center, access to our main lift and they also allow me some space in the racking for storing stuff. Having to drive an hour each way on the weekends to get stuff done kinda sucks, but better than not having anything. Someday when we move closer to AMD, I hope to build a ~40x50 shop in the back yard. Being able to work on stuff at home would make it much more enjoyable

About 40x100. Enough to have one side for working on stuff. The other side for mostly other cars/storage. Has a large compound for everything that's too big to fit. A lift would be nice, but it was built by a good ol boy and the slab isn't thick enough for me to justify it.

Most of the guys who put them in around here have to have footings poured for the posts regardless of the slab thickness. They seem pretty affordable, maybe talk to a supplier and see what they're offering.

Was gonna say the same thing, can always have the areas where the lift posts would go dug up and footers poured
