Just finished swapping in a 93, low ratio, early nv4500 in my truck. Now I'm looking at rebuilding the other 4500 I bought years back as a core. Bought the truck (94 k2500- less engine) for $500. Pulled the trans and scrapped the truck for $300.
Now as I begin to decode this thing I discover it's a somewhat rare beast. It was produced on June 15, 94.
BUT...the I'd tag says it's a GAKD code which has the early bolt pattern but the newer 5:61 ratio 1st gear and removable, square shift tower. I read that these were made but quite rare.
Well, that's cool because both trans fit my AA bell housing. Talk about dumb luck.
