I think I saw somewhere that delay wipers were an option in 78 model trucks, is that true? If it is, what all do I need to put them in?

Yes they are an option and you need the switch and the delay module. The switch isnt hard to find, the delay module is @gmachinz might have a complete setup for you.

My switch was bad on mine so I bought a new one, when I when to use the washer the switch came apart. Why is it so hard for a company to make quality products these days.

If that’s the case I would love to have that option for my truck. I always seem to be in a light mist. Just enough to need wipersbut not enough to need low speed.

If i dont need the relay i most likely will be selling it.. im gunna start with the switch and if that dont change it im gunna go after the relay. Im trying to make my squirters work and my delay work correctly.

Remember me when you are finished with them...

I have to wait another 2-1/2 weeks before I can go junkyard hunting for one.

If he doesn’t want them when the time comes, I’d be interested in that set up. What year did delay wipers become standard?

First year for delay was 1977. Unreliable but a pretty rare option for that year. Re-designed in 1978 and carried thru until 1983. Then became a common feature beginning in 1984 when GM moved the wiper switch to the turn signal stalk.
