They all have the same transducer and I suspect the same servo.
Oh, well you guys are in luck I can guarantee 4 sets if they are the same. including handles. Could you show me a diagram or a picture of the entire cruise setup? Like all parts that are in the system so I can pull all relevant parts. Like, is the vacc ball thing needed?

I can guarantee a 5th set if i decide to remove my 77 buick cruise, but from memory it appeared to be different than the others.

Only difference I see from mine is the pic there seems to be a chain, and Goldie has a rod.

The fender mounted transducer is my main concern, but other useable spares = :waytogo:

Goldie may prove me wrong, but it sure seems like swapping transducers would be a 10 minute job.

Cruise works well, including resume. The speedometer is still off and reads progressively higher the faster you go, so at 15mph it reads 16mph and when you're going 50mph it reads 58mph. I had the gear replaced in the transmission when I got the truck to try to get that closer but it never really did much. For some reason the actual speed and the speed indicated by the speedometer are closer now than before it stopped working. I guess I'll check that out next.

The other issue this truck has the bouncy needle on the speedometer. It bounces way less now and seemed to bounce less the more I drove. It was only about a 6 mile drive I went on so I'll try to figure it out on a longer trip. I'm thinking that may be in the speedo but don't know.

This is all with the used/non-rebuilt transducer. That still hasn't arrived but maybe Monday!

I really want to find a stalk with resume on it. It must be a direct swap with the basic 1-button stalk.

I’ll see if there’s any info on it and report my findings.

The 75 grand am is unique in how it controls the brights.. flash to pass kind of thing. if that function is a simple switch maybe it could be made to control resume? not sure if it fits in or you would have to somehow swap a module or whatever

I also have a complete factory cruise setup from a 1980 K25 with a 350 4bbl/TH400. The transducer will need some work. I cleaned it up and messed with the system enough that it would engage but go full throttle. It also would eventually snap the cable to the transfer due to too much resistance. I am swapping to a 1997 L29 454/4L80E setup and am using the original 1997 Suburban cruise control module and 4 wire turn signal stalk, so all the original components are up for grabs.

Like AuroraGirl, I'm not really sure what they are worth and I've got no guarantee that any or all of it will work. But if anyone needs the parts and doesn't mind waiting for me to finish pulling them all off, I've got the complete original system.

Whatever happened with this, and did that include all the speedo cables ?

Curious.

Thanks !

Britt

No one ever asked for the stuff. Someone local did end up wanting the turn signal stalk with the single button. I am going to be pulling it to replace with a 4 wire turn signal stalk in the next week or so to send to him. I still have the short speedo cable that goes from the transducer to the speedo. The one from the transfer case to the transducer got too close to the exhaust and broke.

Has anyone here torn in to one of these ? Looks like maybe I could take the cover off and lube the gears, but no idea if there are springs or whatnots that would explode when I remove the bolts ...

:)

I took one of mine apart for an inspection once. It seemed delicate, like a watchmaker should be dealing with it and not me.
