It can't grown anymore. Its cracked all the way from front to back. No fear of it growing, I just don't want the edges curling now.

Hell leave it alone. It will look like your dash has built in ***** lips

Noway !!! This is right in center of the steering wheel. Do you know how distracting that would be??? I'd end up dead. You think texting and driving is bad ??? :manos:

Has anyone ever tried one of those Coverlay glue on hard covers?

I was thinking that same exact thing dude! LMC has their own chevy truck magazine, one of the write ups used one of those 100 dollar covers and it looked flawless. I found one of those magazines at Hastings last spring and never noticed another one after that.

I hear the Coverlays are good and why I don't this one to peel and curl at the ends of the crack or it might show thru an overlay or whatever else I come up with the cover it.

The '87 had one of those overlays from LMC...The only thing I've noticed about caps or overlays is that they tend to look "wavy" over time....

I was afraid of that. I wondered if they did such a thing. I have seen pics of dashes that were covered in some kind of stretchy looking fabric that didin't look bad at all. I figured those shoujld be cheap too. For the person who can ever come with a cheap inexpesnsive way to cover these dash pad, could make a small fortune. Especially if it was something that could shipped in small box. Someone get busy and make some cash !!!

Is it just a loose cover, or does it actually wrap and go onto the dash itself?

I put a dash cap from lmc in my truck. The key is prep of the old dash. It needs to be super clean, and you might need to trim the new one a bit. Also get some extra adhesive.

Take the old dash out, its a lot easier to put the cap on out of the truck.
