I think most 3/4 tons in the 70’s with 16” wheels came with 7.50-16’s, which are actually closer to 235/85R16’s.The original rims on my ‘75 K25 were 16.5” 8 lug split rims. I went down to the junkyard and took five 16” 8 bolt rims off a couple of mid 80’s GM trucks and have used them ever since. 16” tires are much easier to find, and therefore usually cheaper. I pulled them myself, so they charged $25 per tire and rim.
If you want to keep it as a high GVW truck, make sure you buy load rating E tires, not light truck tires. E rated tires are also relatively easy to find - even Walmart carries them. 245/75R16E will usually be about the same diameter as your original tires.
265/75R16’s are about the same diameter as the 235/85’s, but they are wider and look better (and are more stable).
