Alright. When I hit the brakes the lights work. With my headlights on the drivers side brake light is stuck on. What the hell is this? Anybody got a wiring diagram for the lights?

Sounds like a bad light socket. Is there a trailer wiring harness that has been spliced in?

For what it's worth, here's the schematic:

You must be registered for see images attach

But, unless someone intentionally changed your wires, it not going to help. You're gonna have to get out the Fluke, crawl under the back bumper, remove the lenses and investigate.

No theres no trailer lights.

My ignition switch is bypassed so I had to run a wire from my toggle to the brake light switch (on the pedal) to get them to work. My key only unlocks the steering wheel.

Maybe I need to redo what I need in there and just rip everything else out......

If the headlights are not turned on the brake lights work fine. Once I turn the headlights and tail lights on the driver side brake light is stuck on bright.

Sounds like the feed wire for the park lights is bridging with the brake light feed, near the affected brake light. Or as suggested, something is up with the socket itself. Does it do this with just the park lights on? If so that's where I would start, from where the wires split at the back, to the affected light.

Yes it only does it with the tail lights on. With the tail lights off (during the day) the brake lights work fine.

Figures they would be messed up when I HAVE to have the tail lights on and its the most noticeable lol.

Oh well Ill start there at the socket and work my way towards the front. Gotta fix it tho.... Suspended license...... :doh2:

The bulb itself was shorted out when I got it. I swapped bulbs from one side to the other and then the other side did the same thing. New bulb = FIXED!

My guess is break in the wire harness in the steering column for the turn signal switch. When what you described happens do both the brake lights go out or just one?

That sounds like a grounding issue
