Thats what I hear.... think about those cab over box truck Isuzu makes, the ones with the rattling little Diesel. They have been in the diesel biz for a while probably.

I knew that isuzu and gm were connected and have been for quite some time now but that dmax info is interesting and never thought about that possibility. I'll have to look that up :)

I just looked it up on wikipedia to make sure I wasn't feeding you full of bs, its an Isuzu design. I used to keep an eye on all the diesel news since its so fascinating..... I read an article where Caterpillar was going to manufacture a small diesel engine for 1/2 and up trucks, I was really excited for that. The whole bankruptcy thing threw a wrench in that.... honestly not a big fan of GM, especially after they tried selling all their stock to over see's investors. They ****** up their one ace in the hole.

Yep, Isuzu and GM have been in bed together for a very very long time. Remember the Old Chevy Luv? That was a knock off of the old Isuzu Pup. Junk nonetheless, but still. Isuzu has also stepped up quite a bit over the years. I still won't go as far as saying they are all that, but they have made drastic improvements. Also, if you like Chevy Trailblazer, Isuzu has a model that is made on the same assembly line as the Chevy Trailblazer, and GMC Envoy. You can get the Isuzu for a whole lot cheaper than the Trailblazer and Envoy too. And today, with debadging being popular, you could buy the Isuzu and debade it and noone would know the differance. Same as Isuzu Hombre being an S-10. Those cube trucks too with the funnly looking front cab are also made by Isuzu with Isuzu Diesels and they run pretty good and great on mpg for the size of the truck.

Edit*** Now I see Iman brought up the little cab over trucks. Thats what I was reffering too. Those are damn good little trucks. You might be shocked at the price too if you went box truck or cutaway chassis van shopping. That Isuzu cab over is pretty dang cheap in comparison. Or at least as was back in like 95 or 96 when I was shopping for commerical trucks for the appliance/electronics/furniture store I was the delivery manager of.

You mean is that the first project GM and Isuzu got into bed together with??? I am not positive about that, but I beleive so. I know when those LUV pickup were selling, they sold the hell outta those things. Then everyone wanted to put V8's in them and many people did. The LUV was competition to Fords Courier pick up which was a Mazda all day long. Dodge never had a mini truck.

As a matter of fact, you are right. I forgot all about that. And its actually a Mitsubishi, not a Toyota.

The little Dodge colt I posted a picture of is a Mitsubishi Lancer with small design changes to make it a Dodge. Drive train is all Japanese.

Inside a D7R Caterpillar dozer from the 80's I saw a tag stating it was manufactured by Mitsubishi.

That's another one...Dodge and Mitsubishi have "been in bed" together for a long time along with Ford and Mazda.
