So i know some guys here own mini square s10's, @Vbb199 , @idahovette (kooper's), @Old77 , @bucket used too..., @Crispy . My question to the forum is what do you think of this setup for my s10? Im not used to drivin quiet vehicles and i want to louden my truck. I know some 4.3's sound like V8's with the right muffler. I have youtube'd it but mostly find later 4.3's and i cant pinpoint what mine will sound like. Throw in your input guys!

I’d go with a black widow muffler. Those sound great!!

Even though the 4.3 is a 5.7 with 2 cylinders cutoff. It will never sound like a V8. LOL
exactly my thought. If it was mine I'd do nothing. American engines lesser than a V8 are not meant to be loud IMO

I had a 2002 Astro work van for years.
I talked the boss man into putting a 50 series Flowmaster on it.
While I got better mileage, the sound was simply off with it.

I did have a cherry bomb on my '82 S-15 in a single set up.
It sounded pretty good.

My choice would be some sort of Magnaflow style muffler with the single in / dual out configuration.
The magnaflow will do a better job of molding the cylinders together.

Thanks for all your input guys. Still havemt nailed down exactly what im gunna do yet. I have thought even if i put it on n not like it i could probly just slam a generic single in dual out in its place.

Mine had a single 2.5" exhaust with a 40 series Flowmaster, it sounded good to me and I often got compliments on it too.

I've had several S10s, and my '95 with the 4.3 TBI and 5-speed manual had a custom dual exhaust with a single Flowmaster "FlowFX" muffler that was the best sounding stock 4.3 I've ever heard. I swear it sounded like a V8 at idle, I constantly had people asking me what engine I had swapped into it. You could tell it was a V6 at higher RPMs but it still sounded great. Everyone who heard that truck was impressed with how good it sounded.

I had a local exhaust shop fab up the exhaust, and that muffler was pretty cheap. I highly recommend it.

Ha, ha, ha,! That's what I was thinking was some sort of Flowmaster or a glass pak.

I'll tell you what you may look at though is, when I had my Honda EX Vtec the guy who lived next door who had a bad ass 2004 Camaro had a muffler off a Dodge Hemi Truck. This little muffler was the end muffler they use on the truck as, I guess a resonator or something, but it was about a foot long with a two inch in and out. I was just straight through no baffles or anything. I put it on the Honda and it did sound like a v8. I was surprised. You may check into it and see what you think. It probably would be like a 40 Flowmaster.

OK Koop's S10 is RUNNING and NOT quiet! The Flo Pros are pretty throaty, but we have no tail pipes on yet. He likes it, me too.......kinda. Gotta get a new shifter cable and get the prndl set up so we can go blow the rear end out of it........did I say it was loud.....
