Buying my first square body this Sunday. The only part on the truck that deviates from stock is the grill, the original met a deer, and was replaced with a billet style grill. I'd like to go back to stock. The only NOS grill I can find on line is $500. The aftermarket grills I see are in the $40 to $100 range. Are the aftermarket grills any good?
I know you usually get what you pay for.
I have read that some of the aftermarket grills do not provide turn signal mounts, and some of them do not accept the stock Bowtie emblem. Anyone have any experience with these grills? Any advice for a newbie? Any thoughts are appreciated, thanks.

I wouldn't mind getting the aftermarket simply because of the grille's vulnerability. NOS is a lot of money to get a rock(s) or another deer thrown at it. Human-deer interaction is extremely pervasive where I live so I wouldn't want a NOS grille, but maybe in a different place, a more suburban location, or a truck that you don't plan to drive a lot is different. Just my two cents.

I just bought one from http://www.truckandcarshop.com/ for $55. It includes the verticle chrome strips and has a location for the Bowtie. You will have to buy the Bowtie for another $65. I could not find anyone that sells the center bars, so I went to a local wrecking yard and got them for $8. I'll have to paint match them. FYI you should be able to get these trim pieces off any 85-88 Chevy square body truck, Suburban, Blazer or van from the same years.

Gentlemen, thanks for the advice, I agree and will try the aftermarket pieces first, if I'm not happy with them I can go back to NOS.
Picking truck up Sunday, will post photo.
