Does anyone know if you can buy this trim piece for the vent window for a 1985 c10. The inside piece is like plastic. But the outside is metal. Mine is rusty. Can’t reuse these after all the work I have put into restoring this truck.

Pictures below. Any help be greatly appreciated

No that’s not the part. If you look
At the second picture. You will see the chrome part that the vent window lock hits.

Unfortunately no, that piece is not available separately. You'll either have to refurbish that one or buy complete new vent window assemblies

IIRC Precision Ruber will restore the wing window frames and seals for a price, I've never seen them but supposedly they powdercoat the frames

I rebuilt mine on my 85 about two years ago. I was meticulous about the prep and paint. Looked good....for about a year. The paint won't stay. I would pay the $$ to have them powder coated if I did it again. Or chrome plated.

Yep, or they'll sell ya a whole new assembly ready to go. We've got them in stock last I checked

I have a whole wing window assembly for the drivers side if you're interested. Let me know.

Not on a square yet,but on other vehicles,I've used vinyl tape, applied carefully, worked into crevices with a plastic picnic knife, trimmed with exacto knife, looks good, fast, cheap easy to redo if necessary.last one I did was years ago. I'll check on it for years of durabilty.

Ok. Thanks. Didn’t think they did make them. Maybe a business for someone. Lol

That just means you didn’t do it properly and/or used cheap paint.
If it’s peeling, it’s likely a prep issue. If it’s fading quickly, that’s cheap paint.
If your truck sits outside down there in Juma, AZ, the heat and UV are about the worst in the country save for maybe Death Valley. That climate is the worst on batteries, rubber/vinyl and paint.
I painted mine when I rebuilt them. And even though I used a quality 2k single stage paint, I also clear coated them. It’s obvious looking at old vehicles that those wing window frames appear to take some serious abuse from the sun.
Like my ‘77. The original paint on the body is still pristine. The wing windows have no black coating left. Just bare rusty metal.
