Hey, I've got an '85 silverado K10 with a 350ci with 700r4. Ever since I've had the truck the gas pedal has been stiff. I've pulled accelerator cable off the carburator and it moves pretty freely. I"ve changed return springs as well. I pulled the detent cable from trans by hand and it was very stiff. This is my 1st time ever owning a vehicle backed by a 700r4. Is this common with these transmissions?

I went through that a while back, I put a new accelerator cable, new detent cable, an its still stiff as heck. Finally gave up on it, guess it is what it is.

Quit leaving your Viagra pills laying on the seat.:Pshyco:

Disconnect the TV cable from the trans and the carb, if the cable is still tight then replace it. I had a kick down cable screw up causing a bind. The cable looked good on the outside but the inner jacket was crushed onto the cable.

I was pondering the idea that maybe the accelerator lever on the carb might have a tension adjustment. I personally have an Eddy 1406, but haven't found a write up on it. Rochester carbs are similar I would think.
