84 C-10 lowering

Hello all, looking for some help with lower my 84 c-10 rear end, the front I pan on replacing the spindles. I would like to keep the same stock spring mounts rear since they are riveted on and I have the frame ready to paint. What is the best option when I plan on replacing all the other stock parts if needed (leaves, shackles etc.) thanks for the advice in advance.

If you want the stock shackles and springs, I would probably suggest a flip kit.

We really need to know how low in the front you are going and if you want it to sit level or retain the factory 2in "rake" after lowering.

J Knight thanks for the help. Looking for the level look and not real low. I like the stance of the truck in your profile picture. I am hoping to keep the stock frame brackets. I am ready to paint the frame but I would rather switch these out now if needed. thanks for the advice in advance Ken

I think your best bet would be a 3.5/5in drop. This will consist of 2.5in drop spindles, 1in drop coil springs, and a flip kit for the rear. Fwiw...mine is 4.5/8in drop but that might be lower than what you want.

You just need the spindle to drop it 2.5in. If you put a drop spring with a spindle it will add to the overall drop. A 2.5in spindle and a 2in drop spring will yield a total drop of 4.5in from stock height.

How low do you want to go...my guess would be 2.4/4in.

If you want to save a little coin....cut one round off the stock coils for 2in in the front and get a set of 4in drop hangers and shackles for the rear.

Does cutting the coil off the spring negatively impact ride quality or put the ball joints at a compromising angle?
