So I tried and tried to get a wiper motor for my 77 gm. No luck at all, so I bought a newer style one for 1980 and up. However the plugs are different. I’m sure someone else has done this , I have searched but didn’t find anything. Can someone send me a link that shows how to do this or tell me please? Thanks in advance

You also have to use the '78 and up wiper switch. Besides changing the connector ends of course. Oh, and the harness will be one wire short for the newer setup, so you have to add an additional wire for the separate park switch on the newer motor.

I can't tell you how to do it, but if I were doing this I would navigate to the wiring diagram section of the forum and look at the diagram for your truck and the motor you bought to see what would need to changed to make it work. I know that's not really what you were looking for, perhaps someone else will come along with what you are looking for.

I have all the wire ends and a new switch on the way. What is the park thing all about?

Park makes certain that no matter when you turn the wipers off they stop at the bottom of the windshield.

Hi Badger, did you get this figured out? I am in the same situation. My 1973 Blazer wiper motor does not work and I would like to upgrade to a new motor but would need to figure out the wiring and switch. Any help would be great!

I came across this thread looking for troubleshooting info for something else. I have wiring diagrams for 1990. The attached pictures are for R/V style and P style 1990 Trucks/Suburbans.

Maybe they will help if you haven't figured it out yet.

Happy Fixing!
Jeff
