I’ve got a Dana 60 Front Axle part number 610057-8 which when I look up is a 79-80 GMC front axle. How do I figure out if it’s a 3/4 ton or 1 ton axle?
I’m trying to buy rotors calipers and pads but need to know if it’s 3/4 or 1 ton. I bought the axle by itself so not sure what vehicle it came out of and wishing I would’ve kept the old parts from when I stripped it down and had it blasted and painted.

GM front D60's were only used in 1 tons so use a K30 as your application.

For GM, front D60 parts are pretty much all the same. The original inner axles will have a necked down area whereas the '81+ are fat end to end, the length and spline are the same throughout.

If you look at the front cover next to lower right corner has a size I’d cast in. This is my 80 gmc k3500 Dana 60 single wheel, all my brakes came from rock auto
