700r4 pan bolt torque spec?

Hey guys, replacing my trans pan, and filter this weekend.

Tried searching for the spec on the googles and found 12 ft-lbs then found another which said 9 ft-lbs This will be using a thread locker gasket which states to use the OEM spec I will also be using a steel pan.

I apologize if this has been covered before, I searched and couldn't find anything.

I thought it was 9 ft-lbs or 12.2 Nm.

Also would it be wise or not to put some loctite on the bolts to help them from backing out?

I’d use shaker proof washers before loctite. Aren’t the bolts flange bolts with serrations?

Don't use loctite lol....
I smother both sides of trans pan gaskets in Permatex Gasket Sealer. (Brush on.)
When you see it squeezing out , that's tight enough.

Yes, they are. I also heard putting some rtv between bolt head and pan. I think I should be alright since I got this super fancy gasket. I can always add something in case there is a leak later.

New Pan is up torqued and looking and holding great. These lube locker gaskets https://www.summitracing.com/parts/lub-llt-g4l60 are pretty awesome and well worth the $27

Gaskets like those are awesome. Overtorque or undertorque, it will still probably be fine.

Yep, completely dry. Did have to follow the bolt order printed on the package when tightening it up but with all gaskets you should do that. It is nice that they spell it out so cleanly though.

they go on dry. I run them on every vehicle i can. they do a great job for sealing as long a you clean the surface really well for the initial install. i always hit the sealing surface with a wire wheel on a grinder and then wipe it off 15 times with brake cleaner. havent had one leak yet after using 10-12 gaskets for various applications.
