What carb do you have? Do you have the cross member for the 700r4 adapter? What gears do you have? What year transmission do you have?

Do you have a matching transfer case?

You need the cross member from the Suburban.

Well Im guessing that you have a TH400 in it currently ? Anyways the 700R4/208 or 241 is not gonna bolt to your 76 cross member.

The 700R4 uses a different height and width of adapter than what you have

Actually I have a TH350. That's what I meant when I said adapting the cross member I was planning on making a plate to fit the 700R4 to the existing trans mount.

No reason why that won't work.

Oh ok. IT would be easier if you could just go grab the cross member from the burb. But if you can mill something up then that could work too

Just make sure you get the lock up to work before using 4th (OD) gear.

That's what the kit from Bowtie OD is supposed to do, I hope.

No need for the computer unless you want to run the TBI from it. The 1987 700R4 is completely mechanically operated aside from the electric lock up. which is still not computer related. The TV cable does everything the later electronic controlled transmissions use the ECM for.
